About The Role

M Group Services Telecom Divison is currently looking to recruit a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Advisor to cover work undertaken across the UK & ROI by Magdalene.

Magdalene operates as a Telecommunication Infrastructure Services Company working as part of the Telecom Division of MGroup Services. Covering the full network life cycle, we provide managed services, technology solutions, first line maintenance and turnkey project management to the private, public, fixed and mobile sectors.

We are looking for a SHE Advisor to be part of our dynamic Health & Safety team, based in Scotland with travel throughout England.

With the onset of the 5G rollout in the UK, our recent contract awards and expansion of current projects, you will be joining us at an exciting time in telecoms. 

What will your key responsibilities be?

  • Providing accurate and effective support to all operational personnel in deliverance of their SHE responsibilities across Magdalene’s whole portfolio
  • Providing support and guidance via root cause analysis of incidents to aid with preventative measure implementation
  • Determining site compliance against Company, client and legislative requirements
  • Undertaking evaluations of potential suppliers through audit and inspections of their depots and offices to ascertain compliance against contract SLAs
  • Promoting continuous safety performance improvements
  • Fostering the development of SHE skills within operational line management & operational teams
  • Ensuring consistent implementation of SHE standards across all contracts
  • Undertaking inspections / audits of operational sites, identifying areas for improvement and assisting with rectifications
  • Involvement in new starter induction training and ongoing training needs for all employees
  • Deputising for the Safety, Health and Environment Manager as required
What competencies are we looking for?
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Construction
  • Telecommunications industry experience, knowledge and application across Mobile and Fixed Networks
  • Knowledge of current industry legislative requirements and best practices
  • Proven history as an auditor against ISO14001, OHSAS18001/ISO45001
  • Excellent knowledge of IT programs to include Excel, Word and Publisher
  • The ability and desire to identify opportunities for improvement and influence change
