About The Role

Morrison Telecom Services operates as a Telecommunication Infrastructure Services Company and is part of the Telecom Division of M Group Services. We deliver a range of essential infrastructure services to the utilities, transport, data and telecom sectors across the UK and Ireland.

We are currently looking to recruit a Field Based (Flex) Supervisor to work on our Telecom Contract in Nottingham and Lincolnshire focusing on the Fibre City workstream.

What will you be doing?

As a supervisor you will be part of our delivery team who are responsible for end to end delivery of the FTTP (fibre to the premise) build programme.  The successful applicant would need to be from a strong flex / fibre background, preferably with Openreach network experience. 

 

What will your key responsibilities be?

  • Field Support of operational teams – flex
  • Support of Supply chain
  • Attend all required meetings both client & MTS / Supply chain
  • In-depth knowledge of Openreach specifications & documentation is desirable
  • Co-ordination of work stack/multiple contractors/DLO in line with delivery programme, ensuring delays are minimised by resolving operational issues to enable swift job closure and invoicing
  • Ensuring prompt and accurate completion and return of relevant compliance documentation
  • Ensuring relevant Health and Safety standards are followed and achieved
  • Lead and develop a team to successfully meet and exceed both MTS/Openreach expectations
  • Jeopardy managing of works to ensure that the required by date delivery and volume delivery targets are met
  • Ensure staff/operatives are regularly monitored and motivated to deliver the highest possible standards

 

What competencies are we looking for?

  • Understanding of Openreach FTTP network build.
  • S11 Accrediation
  • Previous experience of utility and highways works
  • Proven experience in FTTP build including fibre cable installation, splicing and testing
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience at middle management in the Telecoms industry
  • Hold a minimum of NRSWA Supervisors – excavation, reinstatement, SLG
  • SSSTS or SMSTS would be beneficial
  • The ability to produce in depth reports
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Competent in the use of all Microsoft products
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver to ensure quick resolutions
  • Previous experience in managing sub-contract resource

Skills and Experience:

  • Experienced in Utility Works / Highways works.
  • Experienced in FTTP build - Fibre cable installation / splicing / testing.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office products – word, excel etc.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and exceed client expectations
  • The ability to motivate, manage and grow a successful team
  • Strong previous experience of the Communications industry at a similar level
  • Able to drive/have a valid UK driving license

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of a similar role in a similar workstream
  • SSSTS or SMSTS (desirable)
  • NRSWA accreditation to supervisor (desirable)
