About The Role

Morrison Telecom Services operates as a Telecommunication Infrastructure Services Company and is part of the Telecom Division of M Group Services. We deliver a range of essential infrastructure services to the utilities, transport, data and telecom sectors across the UK and Ireland.

We are currently looking to recruit Commercial Cost Clerk to work on our Openreach contract in Dartford.

As a result of continued growth in the Telecom Division the business requires a Cost Clerk to support an existing Framework with one of our key and long established clients. This position will be working in our Southern area with an office based in Dartford, Kent. It is essential the candidate has a good understanding and working knowledge / application of the Telecom sector or other utility and has experience of working in a high volume transactional environment.

 

What will you be doing?

Providing support to the Commercial Management team, working within a team of Commercial Cost Clerks, with ownership of a portfolio of Subcontractors. The key responsibility of this role is to ensure that the Subcontract account summaries are produced in line with the MTS commercial processes and to maintain compliance with the conditions of contract and company policies. Reporting directly to a Commercial Manager.

 

As the Commercial Cost Clerk your duties & responsibilities will be:

  • Producing Subcontract account summaries.
  • Printing of weekly payment certificates.
  • Raising cheque requisitions.
  • Updating of subcontractor account summaries with weekly FPN, S74, Defect’s, RA’s, material and plant recharges.
  • Creating variation orders.
  • Producing Final Account statements.
  • Liaising with subcontractors.
  • Ad-hoc Subcontract reconciliations.
  • Organising weekly remittance via email.
  • Updating liabilities with invoices received.
  • Advising on invoice queries.
  • Other administrative tasks that may be required.

 

Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • Accounts experience desirable
  • Excel Skill Intermediate or above;
    • Vlookup
    • If Commands
    • Pivots
  • Will be asked to work as a team but also manage their own Sub-Contractor accounts.
  • Needs to be able to communicate and build relations with Subcontractors on a daily basis.
  • Able to adapt to Ad-hoc tasks when they arise.
  • Needs to be reliable and works well under pressure.
