About The Role

Morrison Telecom Services operates as a Telecommunication Infrastructure Services Company and is part of the Telecom Division of M Group Services. M Group deliver a range of essential infrastructure services to the utilities, transport, data and telecom sectors across the UK and Ireland.

We are currently looking to recruit a Defect Co-ordinator based in our Dartford office.  As a/the Defect Coordinator, you will be part of our Charges team who are responsible for managing and reviewing all avoidable costs relating to street-works.

The role of Defect Co-ordinator is critical to the effectiveness of the wider Streetworks team ensuring legal and contractual compliance. This position would suit an individual who has a proven record of accomplishment in delivering administrative duties within a business support function.

Key Responsibilities for the Defect Coordinator

 

  • Ensure defects are correctly dealt with in accordance with SLA’s
  • To focus on improving and building working relationships with our sub-contractors to ensure that the closure of all internal and HA defects are closed correctly and within HA legislation
  • Reviewing and validating all reporting for Operations and internal to close out all defects once all the relevant information/permits have been submitted and evidence of completion received
  • Monitoring performance of Operations, Suppliers and 3rd Parties, continuously looking to reduce the numbers of repeat offenders looking at trend analysis
  • Provide support including technical support for the team to ensure they have an understanding of what is required in order for the closure of the defect to be submitted
  • To communicate via phone with our large number of suppliers to offer support where required
  • To regularly check the system to pick up the urgent 2/4 hour response defect and communicate them to Operations as soon as possible
  • Supporting the charge analysts when reviewing S74’s and FPN’s when able.

 

Experience needed for the SHEQ Support Coordinator

  • Onsite Street-works knowledge (not mandatory)
  • Experience of Streetworks/Utilities
  • Confident individual
  • History in dealing with S74's/FPN's & Defects
  • Able to work as part of a team but also use own initiative to deal with urgent/difficult situations
  • Strong communication skills
