About The Role

Avonline Network Services Ltd (ANSL) is a leading specialist provider of telecom network build and installation services, with turnover in excess of £60M. ANSL is now part of the leading, provider of infrastructure services to utilities, telecom, transport and data sectors in the UK, with a Group turnover in excess of £1 Billion.

Reporting to the Project Manager this role will involve surveying, planning and designing all Virgin Media network elements (fibre, HFC, copper and transmission) on the Access Network. Using the latest technology to deliver an industry leading service to our customers, the role will be responsible for the onsite and office based planning of all multiple dwelling units (MDU) requiring planning for Cable Infrastructure.

This role provides key technical expertise using technology and specifically an understanding of Fulcrum & Badger to ensure the planning and contract are met.

The Network Surveyor and Planner would be expected to command a strong awareness of both Health & Safety and Quality Assurance Procedures. Adherence to these is a key element of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Owning, executing and delivering planning requirements for the national contract, ensuring that the work is completed to the highest standard and on time
  • Data manipulation within external databases, internal program databases and Microsoft Excel
  • Ensuring client and customer relationships are maintained to the highest level
  • Proactively managing the work schedule and representing Virgin Media Business to our customer in a knowledgeable and confident way
  • Supporting survey requirements and visiting project areas where required
  • Liaising with the Local Authorities and the general public as required
  • Ensuring strict compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental policies
  • Ensuring RF Planning is done in the most efficient and effective manner, creating sufficient coverage and capacity for the services required

  • Ambitious and enthusiastic about providing industry leading performance / service levels
  • Demonstrates effective leadership and communication skills
  • Demonstrable planning experience and knowledge (Fulcrum & Badger)
  • Geographical knowledge and understanding
  • Strong ability to plan and proactively manage the work
  • Proven experience of maintaining customer satisfaction for both internal and external sources
  • Comprehensive understanding of Health and Safety and Quality Assurance procedures
  • Commercial and Financial Awareness (P&L)
  • Strong I.T skills (Microsoft office)
  • Full Driving Licence
