About The Role

Morrison Telecom Services operates as a Telecommunication Infrastructure Services Company and is part of the Telecom Division of M Group Services. We deliver a range of essential infrastructure services to the utilities, transport, data and telecom sectors across the UK and Ireland.

We are looking for a Desk Planner to be part of our R100 Contract Team based in Blantyre, Scotland. 

What will you be doing?

Your role will be to provide accurate and efficient planning of different projects within the wider R100 programme of works, in adherence to all policies and regulations set out by the business and our client.

This role fits within our evolving, dynamic team at the forefront of Scotlands’ telecom industry, providing essential full fibre FTTP to some of Scotland’s more rural areas. You will work collaboratively with the Programme Manager, our field teams and our suppliers. 

What will your key responsibilities be?

  • Organising and coordinating key tasks within each individual project.
  • Reading, analysing and understanding the content of all work orders provided by the client.
  • Identifying and adapting to potential issues for all projects
  • Accurately logging and reporting all updates and changes to the running of the project.
  • Providing reports to the wider project team and Programme Manager.
  • Assisting with all queries raised by our suppliers and field teams.

What competencies are we looking for?

  • Experience of working in a highly project driven environment.
  • Experience of managing and liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • A team player who has an aptitude for problem solving.
  • Highly driven with excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Computer literate and proficient in the use of all Microsoft applications.
  • A background in the Telecommunications industry, with knowledge of fibre networks and infrastructure would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience in the use of bespoke systems and project management tools would be beneficial.
