About The Role

Morrison Telecom Services are currently looking to recruit a Head of Commercial to be based from our office in Dartford with the ability to travel nationally.

This is a highly challenging senior management role and is ultimately responsible and accountable for all commercial delivery aspects of the frameworks, designed at meeting both Morrison and Client business needs and targets.

Role Purpose: 

·      To be an integral member of the Senior Management team, led by the Commercial Director and reporting into the operational director.

·      Direct management of Commercial/Finance and Accounts team; ranging from Senior Quantity Surveyors to Commercial Administrators

·      Building a strong relationship with client counterparts, and working closely with operational leads

·      To assist and advise the senior management team on commercial influences around Cost and Value reporting; monitoring and managing divisional financial performance to ensure profit targets are met

·      To ensure all Morrison and Client processes are followed to minimise WIP/outstanding cash

To be an effective negotiator at both internal and client levels, and being able to demonstrate the ability and attitude to liaise with staff at all levels

·      Oversee production and presentations , which will include presenting to directors and other senior managers

·      To oversee the procurement and management of sub-contractors and other suppliers

·      To develop and implement changes to process,following understanding of a need to make changes to improve performance

·      Prepare and analyse monthly P&L accounts, with commentary and actions for the management team

Experience:    

  • Previous substantial experience in a similar position is essential
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and work with staff at all levels
  • Knowledge of work activities undertaken (Administrative and Operational)
  • An understanding of all relevant statutory, regulatory and company policies and guidelines
  • The ability and desire to identify opportunities for improvement, and influence change
  • To be able to react to constant changing workloads
  • Knowledge of service delivery within the utilities sector
  • Building and leading a commercial team managing their performance

Qualifications: 

A degree in Commercial Management / Quantity Surveying or other construction related subject is desirable
