About The Role

Magdalene are currently looking to recruit a Rigging, Installation and Commissioning Engineer. Based in Northern Ireland and reporting to our Engineering Supervisor, you will work on project installation activities within our Northern Ireland customer portfolio. You may occasionally be required to travel as part of this role.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Installation and commissioning of various telecoms technologies, systems and infrastructure
  • Fault detection, analysis and resolution
  • Installation and testing of installed systems
  • Performing industry standard testing as required on telecoms and antenna systems (eg, BERT E1 and Ethernet, RF Sweeps, PIM)
  • Wiring and connection on DC power to telecoms equipment
  • Completion of site surveys
  • Providing support on other projects as required
  • Timely completion of all handover paperwork for installation activities that have taken place
  • Maintaining cleanliness of all sites and report defects and problems
  • Providing first line support and troubleshooting of customer installed equipment, to include but not limited to; Microwave, Optical equipment, PDH, Mobile networks

Skills and knowledge requirements:

  • Strong understanding of telecoms systems and communication technologies
  • Previous experience of dealing with and managing contract performance
  • Excellent experience of using a computer for various applications, including Microsoft packages
  • Having the confidence to deal with customers
  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally at all times, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work to a high standard of accuracy and able to meet deadlines as prescribed
