About The Role
Magdalene are currently looking to recruit a number of Optical Engineers to join our Installation and Commissioning team working on project deployments for customers across the UK, assisting with the installation of telecoms equipment. Travel is a requirement for this role. 
 

As an Optical Engineer your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Installation of racks and subracks in an exchange environment
  • DC power cabling and connections in an exchange environment
  • Installation and commissioning of a range of products including but not limited to; Ciena, Infinera, Huawei or ADVA
  • Fibre handling with an adept use of an OPM
  • Fault finding and BERT testing
  • Creation of DCN / LAN cabling
  • Understanding and utilising your knowledge of Tera Term, CLI and FTP
  • Experience working on Dense Wave Division Multiplex (DWDM)
Qualifications required:
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Manual Handling
  • IOSH Working Safely
  • Security Clearance (BPSS / NPPV3) This can be applied for should you be successful
