About The Role

Morrison Telecom Services are currently looking to recruit a Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Advisor to work within the Divisional SHEQT Team covering the South East & South East (North) of England.

You will be joining us at an exciting time in telecoms within a fast and dynamic team. Charged with providing accurate and effective SHE advice to all staff operating across utility, construction and street works contracts & projects within the region.

You will also provide advice to ensure legislative compliance, client requirements are met and to promote continuous improvement.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate SHE advice and support to operational staff, including advising on current CDM Regulations compliance as well as environmental matters.
  • Review and update construction phase plans for projects
  • Provide support and guidance to operational teams and management on SHE performance and provide root cause analysis to aid relevant coaching and feedback.
  • Assist and support line managers with incident / accident investigations.
  • Provide feedback on identified SHE risks and provide advice regarding possible solutions and corrective action plans.
  • Assist and support the SHE Manager in the preparation of internal and external reports.
  • Engage staff and contractors on SHE performance on a day to day basis and support the delivery of objectives and targets.
  • Undertake regular site inspections, inspections of contract depots and offices.
  • Ensuring all offices and documentation are current and up to date.
  • Assist and support operational management to promote SHE at safety briefings and internal and external meetings.
  • Prepare and attend meetings where required by the SHE Manager
  • The delivery of new starter induction training and ongoing training needs for staff and operatives.
  • Undertake evaluations of existing and potential subcontractors, including annual auditing of sub-contractors’ management systems.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience, knowledge and application of the utilities/construction industry are essential.
  • A NEBOSH certificate is required
  • A NRSWA Supervisor card is desirable
  • CSCS card or EUSR registration is desirable
  • Ideally have previous experience in a similar role or experience of working in the utilities or telecoms industry
  • PC literate with a good knowledge of MS Office
  • A full clean driving licence will be required as you will be travelling to various site
