About The Role

Morrison Telecom Services are currently looking to recruit a Senior Environmental Advisor, to strengthen the existing SHEQ team. The role covers a large geographical area predominantly in the midlands as such this role will be area based.

Morrison Telecom Services delivers the construction and maintenance of telecommunication networks involving the roll out of a fibre network, building 40,000 plus cabinets, installing thousands of kilometers of Fibre optic cable, as well as the complexity associated with civil activities in and around the highway while creating a superfast broadband network for our clients.

As the Senior Environmental Advisor you will be responsible for:

  • Providing Morrison Telecom Services with the necessary support and advice to ensure legal and procedural compliance.
  • Implementation and continual development of our divisional / corporate environmental policy and Environmental Management System (EMS) to maintain ISO14001 accreditation.
  • Overseeing and supporting the divisional SHEQ and operational management team on all matters attaining to Environmental compliance .
  • Continually develop the divisional Environmental Management System through legislation changes, best practice etc.
  • Ensure compliance with Morrison Telecom Services Environmental Management System, Legal and client requirements.
  • Support in the preparation and development of contract specific waste management plans, environmental strategy plans etc.
  • Support in the development, maintenance, management and auditing of divisional / contract waste management matrices.
  • Planning, coordinating and where required conducting environmental compliance audits throughout the division and suppliers to ensure compliance with Morrison Telecom Services Environmental Management System, while supporting the close out of any identified non-compliance's.
  • Liaising with the Contract Management Team on Environmental issues and performance.
  • Collating all relevant environmental data for monthly reports, including trend analysis on each business unit.
  • Promote Business wide Targets and Objectives.
  • Where relevant, undertake incident investigations.
  • Develop and deliver briefings and Environmental awareness training across the division where required.

Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Environmental Management. (Similar)
  • Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of ISO 14001.
  • Accredited Environmental Management Qualification working towards IEMA Chartered Membership.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Good IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Good verbal communication and report writing skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
